In training it was asked if the customer had an opt in or opt out option for establishing a reading history log. Actually it can be either Opt In or Opt Out depending on how the library registers the customer. In the new registration form under Reading History if the system is set to display Yes to Reading History this would make it an Opt IN option for the customer. If the display is set to No to Reading History when registering a customer then the option becomes Opt OUT for the customer. So it will become the library’s decision on their registration practices as to whether we make this an Opt IN or an Opt OUT feature for the customer.
